How We Verify Firms

Every firm on ExpatLawyerSpain is checked by our team manually before it appears in the directory. This page sets out what that check covers, and how enquiries reach the firms.

What we check before a firm is listed

• It's a real, practising law firm. We confirm the firm exists, is active, and does the work it claims, checked against the firm's own published services, not a form it filled in.
• English-language service is genuine. The firm serves clients in English with a real English-speaking team, not a machine-translated website.
• Specialties and coverage match reality. The legal areas and cities shown on a firm's card reflect what the firm actually publishes and practises.
• Ratings are shown as published. Where a card shows a Google rating, it's the firm's public Google rating and review count at the time we last checked. We never edit, weight or invent ratings, and firms cannot pay to change them. Additional public reviews are checked for the firms that don't have Google reviews.

No firm can pay to rank above another. Ordering reflects relevance to your filters, nothing else.

How enquiry routing works

Send one enquiry and we route it to a suitable firm for your city and legal area. Responses from firms are usually between 2-5 working days.

What we are not

ExpatLawyerSpain is not a law firm and doesn't provide legal advice. We're a directory and enquiry-routing service: free for users, neutral between firms, with no commissions that affect which firm you see. The advice you get comes from the lawyer you choose. Our job is making sure the firms you're choosing between are real and genuinely English-speaking.
